Detailed Program

Day 1: Hanoi - Arrival

Arrival in Hanoi, welcome by Vietnam Discovery guide at the airport. Transfer and check-in at hotel (room will be available upon arrival). Day 2: Hanoi - Visit the ancient city

A day dedicated to the discovery of the most charming cultural sights and historical monuments of Hanoi: Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, a collection of 25,000 ancient and contemporary objects, witnesses of the history of Vietnamese; Tran Quoc Pagoda, located on the shore of West Lake, the oldest pagoda in the city; Ba Dinh Square, the former palace of Indochina governor, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum…; The Temple of Literature, the symbol of feudal education and one of the emblems of Hanoi. End of the day, walking through the streets of the Old Quarter, tasting Hanoi specialties: Nem (spring rolls), Pho (rice noodle soup)... Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3: Hanoi – Ninh Binh “Ha Long Bay on land” (100 km ≈ 2.5 hours drive)

Transfer to ‘Ha Long Bay on land’ - Ninh Binh, a land of limestone formations, sugar loaves and rice fields flooded by rivers and lakes throughout the year.
Upon arrival, take boat trip to Trang An, aquatic area of more than 30 lakes which are surrounded by numerous limestone pitons covered with lush vegetation. Disembark and transfer to Hoa Lu, the ancient imperial capital of Vietnam (960-1009), visit the temples of the Dinh and Le Kings at the foot of a valley of rice fields and sugar loaves. Discover Vietnam's ancient history against Chinese troops (the Dinh and Le Kings being the first winners and unifiers of the country). Return to Hanoi, overnight at the hotel.

Day 4: Ninh Binh - Halong Bay (200 km ≈ 4 hours drive)

Drive to Halong Bay, the most beautiful bay of Vietnam, one of the most enchanting landscapes of Asia. Welcome by the crew for a magnificent cruise on the bay: Admire the picturesque islands and islets of various shapes (veil, dog, cock, incense ...); Relax on the upper deck of the boat, swimming and diving in the sublime waters of the bay; Kayak trip to discover some unspoiled beaches and the splendid caves of the bay sheltering stalagmites and stalactites dated for thousands years.
Lunch and dinner with seafood. Free evening: card games, night fishing ... Night on board.

Day 5: Halong Bay - Hanoi - Overnight train to Phong Nha (3.5 hours drive + 01 night by train)

Lifted to the dawns to enjoy a moment of unique splendor: the first rays of sunlight emerging from the thousands of sugar loaves of the bay. Visit a floating village, discover the authentic culture and daily life of the local fishermen. Continue the cruise to uncrowded corners of Halong Bay. Lunch on the boat, disembark and then return to Hanoi. Visit  But Thap Pagoda - one of the oldest pagodas in Vietnam. In the evening, overnight train to Phong Nha.

Day 6: Phong Nha - Hue (220 km ≈ 4.5 hours drive)

Morning arrival at Dong Hoi station, drive to Phong Nha National Park, UNESCO World Natural Heritage. On arrival, boat trip on its underground river, one of the longest in the world! Visit the splendid caves. Continue a small walk on the limestone mountain of Ke Bang. Afternoon, drive to Hue - the former imperial capital in the center of the country. Overnight at the hotel.



Day 7: Hue, city tour

A day dedicated to the discovery of Hue, the last imperial capital of Vietnam (1802-1945): The Imperial City, residence and workplace of the 13 Nguyen Kings for 143 years; The picturesque mausoleums of Nguyen Kings (Gia Long Mausoleum or Minh Mang Mausoleum); Thien Mu Pagoda, the most beautiful and most visited Hue pagoda or the very quiet Tu Hieu Pagoda where the tombs of the eunuchs of the Nguyen dynasty are located; Phu Mong Village with garden houses - a building block of Hue's cultural; The manufacture of the traditional conical hats of the country. Day 8: Hue - Hoi An (150 km ≈ 3.5 hours drive)

Road to Hoi An taking the wild coastal coast of the eastern sea and the road to ‘Ocean Cloud Pass’. Day 9: Hoi An & My Son

A day dedicated to the discovery of the two picturesque cultural heritages of UNESCO counting the Central Vietnam: the old city of Hoi An and the ancient sanctuary of My Son. In the morning, stroll around the old streets of Hoi An - "the most charming city of Vietnam", visit unmissable sites: Fujian Sanctuary dedicated to the protective goddess of fishermen and seamen; Phuc Thanh Pagoda, the oldest in Hoi An (1454); Japanese bridge built in 1593, linking two Chinese and Japanese districts; Old lanes, museums and ancient wooden houses dating back hundreds years; Silks and lanterns shops and workshops, possibility to make your own clothes in the silk shops.
In the afternoon, embark on an excursion to My Son, the ancient religious capital of Cham kingdoms, located some 30 km from Hoi An. On arrival, visit the towers and temples at the bottom of a small valley surrounded by massifs. Back on Hoi An, unwind on boat ride on the Thu Bon River. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 10: Hoi An - Departure

Full day free for your rest and last shopping. Late afternoon, flight to Hanoi / Ho Chi Minh City to take departure flight. End of our 10 days tour in Vietnam!
